Shooting the West - Landscape Astrophotography (April 27 and 28th)

Want to capture the splendor of the night sky above the stunning landscapes around Winnemucca with your digital SLR? Join renowned night photographer Grant Kaye and learn the technique and art of photographing after dark. We will meet for several hours of classroom instruction and go over the fundamentals of night photography. Then we will break for dinner and then get back together to photograph the night sky. The class will reconvene for Part 2 the following morning, when we will work on processing our images for a few hours. Although we may not be able to shoot all of these types of images due to weather/season, the class will cover strategies for planning and shooting milky way shots, star trails, and multiple exposure blending, with an emphasis on including the landscape in your photos of the night sky.
